Charlotte Belk, Salon Director
Charlotte Belk has been revolutionizing the hair and makeup industry since launching her career in 2001. A South Carolina native, Belk developed an obsession with hair and makeup in her early childhood, and her love of the art of beauty had only grown. Belk began working as a hair stylist, offering traditional cuts, dimensional hair color, and specialty services. Her extensive training and dedication to personalized service led her to open her original salon, Elysium, with her husband in 2004 a leading salon with Charleston's most experienced stylists, prior to opening Elysium at Charleston Place. At the same time, Belk expanded her business into Charleston's niche wedding industry, providing unparalleled hair and makeup services to brides and wedding parties. Belk thrives on creating a beautiful and comfortable experience brides, their families, and friends. Wedding Hair by Charlotte currently represents hair and makeup artists with more than 200 weddings a year. Belk also created the Elysium Agency representing hair stylists, makeup artists, photographers, videographers, and wardrobe stylists. The Elysium Agency is highly sought after and has worked for and contributed to: Vogue Italia, The Ford Agency, Talbots, American Express, Fox News, Weddings Unveiled, Southern Wedding Magazine, Marie Claire, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Harper's Bazaar, to name a few. Belk, a freelance hair and makeup artist working on runway, editorial, commercial, and television projects locally and nationally, currently resides in Charleston. She is married to Kevin Belk, also a stylist, and they have three daughters.
Sedona Kirven, Stylist
Sedona Kirven, a Charleston native from Folly Beach, turned her creativity into a career after graduating from Paul Mitchell The School Charleston. Kirven has many specialties that include cutting, various foiling techniques for color, Hot Head extensions, blowouts, and Keratin treatments. Her attention to detail and precision is what makes her stand out among stylists. Confidence and satisfaction is the goal for each of her guests. Kirven is a mother of two who inspire her daily to do her best work.
Austin Welch, Stylist
Austin Welch has been transforming client's hair since beginning his career in 2011. Originally from Florence, South Carolina, Welch move to Charleston in 2016. Welch attended the Betty Stevens Cosmetology Institute in Florence, SC and continued his education in formal hairstyle training in New York City at Moroccanoil Academy; an advanced facility designed to provide on-site, customized education to stylists. In March 2017, he was featured in Skirt! Magazine as a hairstylist for "Women at Work". His true passion is creating the perfect cut, color, or style for his clients, so they leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
Marlee Gamble, Stylist
Marlee Gamble has nearly a decade of experience as a stylist. A Columbia, South Carolina native, Gamble recently moved to Charleston to expand her expertise and clientele. A graduate from Lexington Technical Center School of Cosmetology, Gamble thrives on creating the perfect hair catered for each client. Her specialities and passion stem from color ranging from balayage to corrective color, and drastic hair transformations. Most recently, she furthered her education at the L'Oreal Professional Academy in New York City and became certified in corrective color. Gamble is dedicated to creating a personalized experience for each client.
Kevin Belk, Stylist
Kevin Belk has been a part of the industry in the Lowcountry for more than 20 years. Since 1996, Belk has been expanding his skills and techniques with women's hair through world-class education from Yosh Toya in Japan to Van Council in Atlanta to Oribe in New York and Miami, and beyond. He also specializes in men's hair care, ranging from clipper fades to classic cuts and coloring. Having traveled all over the world, he has worked on fashion editorial campaigns and commercial advertisements in Italy, NYC, Miami, and Greece. After many years, Belk took his talents to focus on opening a high-end salon with his wife and Salon Director, Charlotte Belk. His goal is to create a beauty experience that exudes luxury and perfection.
Johnnie Walker, Stylist
Johnnie Walker began his career nearly two decades ago after graduating from TONI&GUY, one of the top worldwide educational hairdressing companies. Throughout the years, Walker spent part of his time working as a stylist and educational director and then went on to assist the opening of a top-rated salon in Dallas. A passion for educating others in the industry, he went on to travel the nation for L'Oréal to teach advanced haircutting and styling techniques. Then, to refine his own skills, Walker received certifications in Advanced Balayage and Dimensional Color Techniques from Wella Studio. Drawing inspiration from the latest trends, he focuses on providing a tailored service suited to fit any individual.
Stefanie Simpson, Stylist
Stefanie Simpson began her career in Chicago, where she graduated beauty school, then headed overseas for additional education. While in London, Simpson attended Vidal Sassoon Academy where she received cut and color training, as well as makeup application training. With nearly a decade of experience, she specializes in blondes, natural sun-kissed color, balayage, extensions, and long-layered cuts. Simpson wants every client to look and feel their best with every style she creates.
